This contest is all about pushing boundaries and imagining the future of the city’s municipality. Our goal is to ensure the city infrastructure runs smoothly and as autonomously as possible so that residents and visitors enjoy a great quality of life.

We're specifically seeking creative and forward-looking technologies, services, and solutions that streamline processes through automation and digitization. The aim is to reduce human interaction as much as possible, in order to create free time for humans so that they can work creatively. We’re interested in innovative solutions that automate recurring systems and highly futuristic ideas in the following 4 areas:

1. Smart and automated Waste Management and Outdoor Cleaning (i.e., collection, transportation, sorting, cleaning of streets, disposal of public litter)

2. Transformative Road Infrastructure & Maintenance (maintenance of transport infrastructure within urban areas (intracity roads), it’s NOT about the modes of transportation)

3. Innovative Smart Parking Solutions (Management of public parking spaces, including lots and garages (excluding private commercial or residential parking)

4. Managing & Maintaining the Neighborhood Infrastructure (i.e., smart management of parks in urban areas (excluding natural reserves), managing public places and spaces that accommodate neighborhood facilities and services, smart animal shelters

Please note that all services are geared towards publicly used spaces & services (no private or commercial use cases). Please know that we’re looking for both: solutions that are already on the market (which are highly innovative) and super futuristic ideas (i.e., first ideas in papers, first Proof of concepts for a solution).

Here are some points to guide your thinking for each of the 4 areas:

• Existing innovative solutions:
• Which solutions are already out there, are highly innovative, and could already be implemented within the next two years?
• What truly innovative solutions are already implemented in other smart cities? What are inspiring cases and best practices?

• Highly futuristic ideas:

• What are truly futuristic ideas and crazy examples/technologies?
• Which developments/ideas/technologies are in the early stage and have the potential to establish within the next 10 years?
